Trinidad Damian Ms. Lehmann 1-1A English 20 March 2019 As You Like It Response I, personally, enjoyed the As You Like It play a lot. They reinvented the author, William Shakespears, story about two people in love, but in the 80’s. And I especially have to give a huge round of applause to the company Shakesperience. They really, really made this play something special. The play As You Like It gives a modernized, yet still out of date back drop to the classic and favorite, Shakespeare. This new twist was brilliant. I am so glad I got to experience this play. The emotion between two people, and the other characters adding to their love.It was hard for them to come together, and each step of the way, something bad happened. Not only was the acting amazing, there was also such amazing attention to detail. The costumes were specifically picked out, not only just for the 80’s aesthetic, but each piece of clothing was true to the character. Another thing that really impressed me was the set up on stage. They were limited with the set objects and what they could do with them, but for what they had, they sure did use it to their best advantage. They made this limited play seem like it was all they needed. They never exceeded their resources. They made the set look like a true piece of art. And, finally, the acting... WOW! It truly had me, and I'm 100% sure most of us, speechless. They used so much emotion and made simple everyday things look so much more interesting. This was an amazing, heartfelt play that I truly wish everyone could experience.
Student's Choice Essays (Semesters I & II)
Your student's choice essays should be writing you've completed that is not already included in the portfolio. It may not be poetry and it should be a strong example of your writing ability. It may be from another class, just be sure you have met the same expectations you would have in your English classes (cite research, use complete/grammatically correct sentences, etc.) Beyond that, the choice is yours. Some things to double check:
Make sure any research is cited (MLA Format).
Make sure this is a strong example of your writing ability.
Make sure this is not another paper already required.
As always, make sure all work is entirely your own - no plagiarism.
